1) Encouragers: EA Prep E, SJ 45cm or Poles on the ground.
2) Newcomers: EA Preliminary 1.2, SJ 65cm or SJ 45cm
3) Introductory: EA Novice 2.2, SJ 65cm or SJ 75cm
4) Ready to Ride: EA Novice 2.2, SJ 85cm or SJ 95cm
Ribbons up to 6th Place.
There is a combination for everyone to have a go in with relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the beautiful grounds at Karinya Equestrian Park to enjoy.
This event is available to all EA Members and we also offer a day membership so you can compete if your not an EA member.
Entries close October 1 and we will be running the same Tests being used at the ARCA Dressage Challenge.

Working Hunter ARCA event 13th June
Okay we have 2 and a bit months to work our butts off for this Challenge. Its nice and close and we can all help each other out if need be. I will be asking who is interested at next weeks rally and those who are we can do some training for it. So much fun these events and its all adults just like us, new, old, green, poles on the ground, jumps and all round fun. I hope there are lots of you who would like to give it a go.
Please find attached the entry pack for our Unofficial Working Hunter Training Day. This is a have-a-go day and caters for all levels from poles to 75cm and over. There is a walk/trot option and walk/trot/canter option available. Please see entry pack for all details. Come along and enjoy a relaxed fun day with plenty of support and encouragement. Then you will all be able to come back for our Official ARCA Challenge Working Hunter in August and go for gold...!! Please see the ARCA and Zamia website pages and Facebook pages for entry. Please email zamiaarc@live.com.au for enquiries in the first instance or Vivien on 0414 561 829 or Sara on 0408 505 951. All riders MUST be current members of an ARCA club.

Karinya Equestrian Park in the news

Karinya Equestrian Park Orange GroveThe Karinya Equestrian Park facility at 27 Grant Street, Orange Grove is currently being fine-tuned following the completion of the construction of the undercover arena and storage sheds, new sand arena, installation of floodlighting and pavilion extensions and new fence and entry statement. The City is looking forward to welcoming the four user groups - Gosnells Riding and Pony Club, Orange Grove Adult Riders Club, Orange Grove Horse and Pony Club, and the Riding for the Disabled Gosnells Centre to their new home. The four organisations will form an overarching management organisation, the Karinya Equestrian Park Management Committee Inc, who will manage the lease over the pavilion and shared use arrangements for the grounds by all four organisations. With Karinya Equestrian Park Management Committee's increased responsibilities for the sand arenas, all ground use will be by restricted to user group members, particularly during the first year as they settle in. Club members accessing the site must have approval for their attendance from the Karinya Equestrian Park Management Committee prior to use. Happy new home for horse lovers 30/Sep/2014 Orange Grove Horse and Pony Club members Karen Hardy with Marnie Johnson on Whizz, and Ebony Johnson on Miss Molly with Jill Claybrook. THE $1.9 million Karinya Equestrian Park in Orange Grove opened last week. Karinya will be home to the Orange Grove and Gosnells pony clubs as well as Riding for the Disabled WA. The City of Gosnells is the first local government to fund the development of a custom-built RDA facility. The state-of-the-art complex has a 2800sq m floodlit undercover arena, new sand arenas, a floodlit main arena, new storage sheds and 60 outdoor horse pens, and was built with financial assistance from the State Government. Horse lovers throughout the southeast corridor have eagerly awaited its opening, posting photos of the building process on social media. Disability Services Minister Helen Morton and City Mayor Dave Griffiths opened the complex last Wednesday. Cr Griffiths said the City had worked closely with user groups on its design. “The City is proud to lead by example as the first local government to provide this level of support to establish a Riding for the Disabled centre,” he said. “Karinya is an Aboriginal word meaning ‘our happy home,’ and we certainly hope that the equestrian park provides many happy times and memories for its users.” |

2013 Wind Up
Thank you to all of our 2013 members who attended our AGM and trophy night on the 14th December. Congratulations to all of the winners and participants. The committee would like the thank all of the members for very successful year with multiple club competition wins and enjoyable rally days.
Rising Trot Option in Novice in 2014
Thanks to DWA, rising trot will be an option in any Novice Dressage Test from 2014, courtesy of a very comprehensive submission to ADC made by DWA. This matches the changes that have been made at Novice Dressage level in many developed countries (USA, New Zealand, South Africa, UK and more), using evidence-based research on Skills Acquisition. Of course many NCAS Coaches, like leading trainers in other sports, have been aware of the importance of developing skills like sitting trot in a Closed Situation (at home, on a circle, on the arena track, etc) well before the skill becomes ‘automatic’, when an athlete can apply it without thinking about it at all, in an Open Situation (such as at a competition: warming up or riding a test).
